    • Notably, redshirt sophomore Carson DesRosier clinched the top mark at 149 lbs behind his defeat of junior teammate Jacob Silka in the all-Bulldog championship final while senior Ben Haubert and graduate transfer Billy Janzer each notched first at 174 lbs and 184 lbs, respectively. Along with Silka, redshirt sophomore Patrick Brophy slid in at second for the 197 lbs bracket while graduate student Tyler Badgett battled back to third overall within the 157 lbs division.

  • Four Allen Wrestlers Place at Pembroke Open - auyellowjackets.com

    • Xavier Anderson posted a strong collegiate debut for the Yellow Jackets as the Summerville, South Carolina native finished in fourth at 125. Anderson's trio of wins included one by major decision and two by fall in one minute and the second in just 24 seconds. 

    • Drevon Wallace worked his way through the bracket in the 149 weight class with three fall victories against three adversaries, including one tech fall. Wallace finished the afternoon by winning the fifth place match with a fall in a mere 14 seconds. 

    • Jerrel Baskins was the fourth Yellow Jacket to place Sunday as the Decatur, Georgia native placed sixth in the 184 weight class. Baskins won his first match of the morning against a competitor from UNC Pembroke in a 9-5 decision, and emerged victorious in his second match with a fall in 59 seconds against Coker's Joshua Howell.

    • “Air Force freshmen Brian Burburija (197) and Andrew Harmon (165) had strong showings in their Division I collegiate debuts. Burburija made a statement with a pin and three technical falls on the day— his only loss by way of the eventual champion, No. 27 Christian Knop (NC State) in sudden victory (4-1 SV). Harmon showed tenacity in tough matches, winning three bouts by decision after a sudden victory loss in the first round.”

    • SE Open: The other top results from App State's six entries in Salem, Va., were runner-up finishes from Carson Floyd (197 pounds, Open Division) and true freshman Stephan Monchery (heavyweight, Freshman/Sophomore Division). Chad Bellis dropped his first match but took fifth at 133 pounds with a 5-1 record, while Jeremiah Price was fifth at 157 pounds with a 5-2 record.

    • Battle at Citadel: Tomas Brooker went 2-0 with a head-to-head win against teammate Dalton Battle in a 184-pound semifinal before falling 4-2 in the final against The Citadel's Billy Janzer, who was an NCAA qualifier for Rutgers in 2020 and 2021. Janzer recorded a tiebreaking takedown with 33 seconds left. The Mountaineers got third-place finishes from true freshman Jarvis Little (4-1 at 133 pounds), Aldo Hernandez (3-1 at 141 pounds) and Logan Eller (3-1 at 184 pounds), while Anthony Conetta placed fourth at 157 pounds with a 3-2 record.

    • Noah Danforth (149 lbs): Won the 3rd place match with a major decision over Max Parnis (Ursinus) (15-7).

  • #5 Presbyterian Impresses in Princeton with 49 Wins, Four Gold Medals - gobluehose.com

    • Alyssa Mahan (124), Ella Beam (207), and Paige Wehrmeister (138) all backed up their claims to the national top ten by going 10-3 collectively with three runner-up standings.

  • Sacred Heart downs Presbyterian 32-11 to open season - gobluehose.com

    • Caleb Roe, Ryan Luna, and Trenton Donahue were all able to grab the W in the inaugural dual of the 2024-25 slate, although a match-starting 12-0 run by the visitors was enough to eventually grab the 19-point victory.

  • Eight Tornado place at Glenville State Invite - kingtornado.com

    • Clint Morrisette placed third at 174 pounds, winning his first three matches, including a 1:28 pin of Mark Matysek of Frostburg State. After dropping his semifinal match, he won the third-place match via injury default.

    • At 184 pounds, returning national qualifier Ethan Lopez won his first two matches of the day, including a 2:23 pin of Gavin Rodriguez-Cayro of Davis & Elkins to start the day. After dropping a narrow 2-1 decision in the semifinals, he won the third-place match via injury default.

    • Brennan Watkins placed seventh at 157 pounds, winning his first two matches of the day, 19-1 over Zane Perkins of Emory & Henry and 11-2 over Belmont Abbey's Alex Ropski.

    • Joe Bertrand finished fourth at 157 pounds, winning a 6-1 decision over Evan Davis of Ashland and an 11-1 major decision win over Wiley Houser of Glenville State.

    • Tyson Upchurch, wrestling at 125 pounds, had two wins on the day, both of which were via fall. After dropping his opening match, Upchurch pinned Belmont Abbey's Daniel Graham before beating Devin Fowler of Salem.

  • Kibelbek and Booe take 2nd for King at ESU Open - kingtornado.com

    • No. 6 Avery Kibelbek went 3-1 on the day, with two wins via pin, including a win over Ahsia Torres of Sacred Heart in the semifinals. She would finish second after dropping the championship bout.

    • At 117 pounds, it was an all-King matchup in the finals, as  Mendoza won an 8-5 victory over Clare Booe to take the title. Mendoza advanced to the finals after four wins, three of which were pins. Booe also won four times en route to the finals, with all of her victories coming via tech fall.

    • Jessica Corredor earned a first round bye at 131 pounds, then won four straight matches in the consolation rounds after dropping the round of 16 match. In the fifth-place match, she faced Brianna Holcomb of Frostburg State, who she beat via pin to take fifth-place.

    • An (GA) of Lehigh beat the #2 and #3 seeds before falling in the finals to the top seed.

    • “The Open division saw even more success, with Lee Camp securing second place in the 125 lbs category after a dominant 17-1 TechFall win over a top-ten ranked wrestler, showcasing the skill and intensity he brings to the mat.” Reece Meyers and CJ Shadinger also placed.

    • Life University's wrestling team put in a solid showing at the Pepsi Patriot Open, with athletes going deep in their brackets and securing some notable placements. Kendall Norfleet (184 lbs) and Demarco Lee (285 lbs) led the team with first-place finishes, while Collin Mullins (133 lbs, Unattached) and Khalil Abdushshakur (197 lbs, Unattached) also claimed top spots in their divisions, showing the strength of the overall program.

    • The Chattanooga Mocs wrestling squad placed four at the Southeast Open Saturday in Salem, Va. Junior Blake Boarman led the way ending up third at 133. Boarman went 4-1 with a major decision and pin along the way. He was joined among open placers at 285 by Kaleb Snodgrass coming in fifth and Dayne Dalrymple's sixth at 149. Kendrick Curtis also ended up sixth at 197 in the Freshman/Sophomore Division.” Many others with SE ties competed as well.

    • Kodiak Cannedy made an explosive season debut, earning the Trojans' first pin of the year in his opening match. His aggressive style set the tone for the rest of the team.”

    • Brennan Van Hoecke wasted no time on the mat, securing a first-round pin and adding to the Trojans' impressive tally.”

    • “Owen got the day started with a quick win via fall (0:48) over Musa Tamaradze in the 141 bracket. Owen followed that up with tech fall victory against Brandon Palcko (Rider) to earn a spot in the quarterfinals. A 10-3 decision win over Justin Hoyle (Hofstra) sent Owen to the semifinals, where he cruised to an 8-0 major decision win against Billy Dekraker. Owen fell to Lock Haven's Wyatt Henson via fall to finish in second place.”

    • Names to Note: “… sophomore Will Conlon, wrestling unattached, won the 197-pound weight class at the Princeton Open Sunday at Jadwin Gymnasium. Freshman Teague Strobel collected a pair of wins at 125 pounds in his collegiate debut.”

    • Names to Note: Hunter Heflin, James Latona, Elijah Penton, and Daniel Williams all competed for Navy.

    • Names to Note: “Ethan Berginc (133 lbs), Gunner Filipowicz (165 lbs) and Dalton Harkins (174 lbs) each won the title in their respective weight classes. Cooper Haase (174 lbs) and Sam Sorenson (285 lbs) were finalists in their career debuts, with the 174 lb title bout being an all-Army affair. Charles Farmer (125 lbs), Wolfgang Frable (197lbs) and Brady Colbert (285lbs) each finished third. Ryan Franco (141lbs) and Mark Metz (157lbs) followed in fourth, Trae McDaniel (149lbs), Dakota Morris (157lbs) and Austin Kohlhofer (197lbs) were fifth and Richard Treanor (141lbs) claimed sixth place.”
