State of the Program ... Braden River (FL)
Braden River.png

By this time - many of you have seen that we are doing highlights of different teams across the SE as we gear up to drop the team previews in 6 weeks. I was releasing one team a day, but with now over 170 teams having sent in information - I’ll try to ramp it up a bit so we can get as many in as possible before the first part of October. I can’t guarantee I’ll get to everyone, but I will try to get to as many as possible.

Please re-visit when the actual previews get dropped in October because what I am sharing below are just a few of the names the coaches have given me. Much more will be shared - plus SEWrestle’s “What to Expect” - in the team previews. Lastly, if you want to know whether we have your form … you can find the list of everyone that has submitted a form in the blog archive.

Braden River (FL)

Coach Sharbono enters his 6th season at Braden River and his 4th as the head coach. He returns a team in 2021-2022 that will have to plug a few holes after the graduation of 8 wrestlers including State Qualifier Jacob Holland. Holland and company accounted for nearly 80% of the 60 points Braden River scored in the 2A Region 3 tournament.

Returning wrestlers Grady Murphy, Jessey Colas, and Diondre Houston should lead the way for a solid batch of new wrestlers coming in. Keep an eye on freshmen Wayne Boatwright and Collin Ickes as well as Junior Asher Jernigan.

We are rebuilding after Graduating eight last year... But we have a solid foundation coming back with several who have been working all off season.
— Coach Sharbono

WE NEED YOUR HELP … We are in the process of collecting as much information as possible and would love for coaches to reach out and share their information. If you are a coach and would like to provide that information please click the “Team Preview” button below to be sent to a survey.

State of the Program ...

Here is an updated list of the coaches that have provided feedback. I’ll get to as many team highlights as I can before I share the team previews in October. The goal is to share all of the previews by the time each state begins practice (according to their state association).

Coaches - if you filled out the form, but do not see your team listed please let me know. I’ve also had many roll in the last 24 hours - so I could have simply missed one.

If you missed one of the State of the Program posts … you can find a list and links to all of them in our blog archive. All of those that have been posted thus far are italicized below.

Also just a reminder - the links below are just a snapshot of what the coaches have shared and what will be in the full team previews.

Steinbrenner (Florida)

Coach Noble enters his 14th season and the Warriors look poised to have several breakout stars. At the top of that list are RJ Noble and Christian Santana who missed last season with injuries and are ready to get back on the mat.

The Warriors didn’t have a State Qualifier in 2021, but return several wrestlers that went deep into the 3A Region 2 tournament and will look to book their ticket to Kissimmee in 2022. Keep an eye on:

  • Frank Diaz

  • Colin Bernstein

  • Cam Haskell

Ben Bramlett also qualified for regions and will look to finish his senior season with a trip to Kissimmee. Vitale, Nguyen, Odegaard, Rodriguez and others will be counted on in 2022 as well.

Look for other teams to be highlighted over the next 7 weeks.
