Here is an updated list of the coaches that have provided feedback. I’ll get to as many team highlights as I can before I share the team previews in October. The goal is to share all of the previews by the time each state begins practice (according to their state association).

We are doing highlights of different teams across the SE as we gear up to drop the team previews in 7 weeks. Today’s highlight is Eagle’s Landing High School (Georgia). Keep in mind this isn’t the entire team preview for any of these teams … this is just a sample of what will be released in several weeks.

The Golden Eagles are led by Coach Christopher Allen who enters his 4th season back at the helm of his alma mater. The Golden Eagles finished 19th at the 2021 5A Georgia Traditional State Tournament. The Eagles continue to climb and the 2021-2022 edition could be the best in the Coach Allen era.

The Warriors return State Qualifiers

But how high the Eagles climb will likely fall to how well some of the other returners do in 2021-2022:

As well as some new faces in …

and others. McKenney and Williams will lead the way and each will be hunting a spot on the podium in 2022.

Coach Allen has been working hard on expanding the girls program and that effort should be led by the Whiteside sisters … Kai Emoni Whiteside and incoming freshman Cienna Whiteside.

The Cougars are led by Coach Sean Moistner who enters his 17th year at the helm of the Alexander program (and 27th overall). They finished 9th at the 2021 6A Georgia Traditional State Tournament and 3rd at the Dual State Tournament - losing to the eventual Champs (Buford) 37-33 in the semifinals.

The Cougars return 5 State Qualifiers including:

• State Runner-up Dylan Burton (160)

• Corbin Xayabouth-Jones (SQ @ 106)

• Nathan Ward (SQ @ 113)

• James Ligon (SQ @ 138)

• Isiah Cornelius (SQ @ 145)

But perhaps their most important returnee is 2019 State Champ Andrew Voiles - who missed the post-season in 2021.
