East Coweta (GA)

Head Coach: Matt Ferrari (entering 5th season)

Staff: Ben Casado, Drew Gabriel, Buck Roetman, Derek Roetman, Jake Madison

East Coweta has a solid group returning in 2021-2022 and will look to make some noise in 7A. Coach Ferrari returns 7 of 11 State Qualifiers, but do lose 2021 State Placer Dylan Spelios to graduation. Christian Gordon, Kian Hauser, and Brennon Linenger each won multiple matches in Macon in 2021 and should lead the team this season. The key for East Coweta’s team success will be the continued development of Josh Shackelford, Malakai Dudek, Phillip Carroll, and Landen Woodard. If Ferrari can get those 7 back to Macon and get some production from other parts of the lineup - EC could be a team to watch this season. Keep an eye on New York transfer Betty Cherry as well as the return of John Milner, Cosby Ellis, and Ta’Lynn Ellis.

Excited for the 21-22 season. Lots of new faces this season, as the Indians will be 52 wrestlers strong this season, including 5 girls competing. Very young bunch of new JV wrestlers, but some who can likely help in dual situations down the road. The returning varsity wrestlers put a great summer of wrestling together and should be ready to make the run to Macon in February.
