Woodward takes the Panther Scramble (GA) - Woodward crowned 5 Champs en route to the Panther Scramble title at Jackson County. Oglethorpe County was 2nd. I’m not entirely sure how it was scored, but you can find all of the matches in FloArena. Remember many teams really work to get mat time for their entire team early in the season and that would explain the weight classes as well as multiple entries at some tournaments.

Hewitt-Trussville downs Thompson Black to take the Southeastern title (AL) - Hewitt downed a split squad from Thompson 49-15. Some interesting individual matchups, but not sure we can take much away from team scores as coaches worked to get mat time and squads were still missing some big guys. Georgia Central (Carroll) downed Arab 43-42 for 3rd.

Thompson Girls down Arab to claim the Girls Southeastern title (AL)

Bronco Stampede at Brookwood (GA) - Team points weren’t kept and tons of wrestling at Brookwood on Saturday. Like the Panther Scramble above - looks like lots of individual matchups in small round robin groups. Some interesting results … Amantee Mills took first in 130-136A with a nice 15-7 win over Ethan Sellers of Colquitt County; Ola’s Reese Jones won the 136-143A with an 8-0 major over Logan Paradice of Colquitt; Connor Powell of Hillgrove downed Garrett Wood of Harris County 10-5 to take 150-152A; Jeremy Paradice of Colquitt downed Will Hames of Social Circle to claim 168-180C (no clue what the A, B, C were). Lots of other individual matches that were interesting.

Valdosta downs Lowndes 47-30 to claim the Bear Duals Title (GA) - 6A #3 Valdosta downed 7A #2 Lowndes in the finals … neither team had a forfeit - so no clue how close either team is to being a “full squad”. Both teams hammered the field on their way to the finals. Mary Persons downed Jasper County 54-30 for 3rd.

Pace Academy puts up 227 points to claim the McIntosh Invitational Title (GA) - Ben Schiffer (126), Sam Howe (152), Henry Leusink (160), Jude Black (170) each claimed titles for Pace as they outdistanced runner-up (and host) McIntosh by about 50 points. Morgan County was 3rd followed by Villa Rica and Johnson.
