Oviedo (FL)

Coach Waters takes back over the Oviedo program after being away for the last few years. He has quite a young group (last year’s post-season squad had 4 freshmen and 2 sophomores). State Placer Carl Marcus Patrick has graduated and Coach Waters will look to Seniors Malachi Williams and David Rojo to lead in 2021-22. John Dishman, Zachary Scharf and Williams each placed at districts and Scharf and Williams each won a match at the Region 1 tournament a year ago. They will look to punch their ticket to Kissimmee in 2022. Oviedo might struggle as a team a bit in 2021-2022, but the continued development of Jimmy Chiaradio, Bryson Blanford, Nick Rynearson, and Andres Millan (as well as Scharf and Dishman) should pay dividends in the future.

We are super excited about this upcoming season.

Page (TN)

Page drops to the smaller of the two classifications in Tennessee in 2021-22 and will look to establish themselves in the new class. Page finished top 20 in 3A a year ago and will look to move up in 21-22 … but they will do so with quite a few new faces. Last year’s squad graduated 8 that competed in the post-season including State Placer Mitchell Lambert and State Qualifiers Collins Fiscus and Jack Mundt.

This year’s squad will look to Region Champ and 2021 State Qualifier Will Parcel to lead the way. Coach Gray will also look to State Qualifier Grant Hawkinson as well as Cooper Lambert and Thomas Brown. With the graduation of 8 seniors, this team will need some new faces to step in and make an impact.

The Page High Patriots dropped to the DI A/AA classification in Tennessee for the 2021-2022 season. They had become an established program in the AAA division competing against some of the toughest teams in the Williamson County District. Now dropping down into A/AA they are looking to get back to the state duals competing against defending state champions and rival Fairview, while led by the only senior, Captain Will Parcel, who is also looking for an individual state championship.

Forest Park (GA)

Forest Park scored 21 points at the 5A State Tournament in 2021 and each of those wrestlers is back for another go in 2021-22. Jayden Lhabouet and Anton Williams each won 3 matches at the state tournament last year and both should be hunting a spot on the podium in 2022. They are joined by fellow State Qualifier Alan Cruz-Rios who also won a match in Macon in 2021 and will look to get another few and make a run as well.

Keep an eye on Eric Worthy, Casey Clark, Aristides Montalvan, and Ivy Kenner … each has post-season experience and will look to punch their ticket to Macon in 2022. This team was 32nd in 2021 and will look to make a big jump into the top 20 in 2022.
