State of the Program ... Florida High Girls (FL)

Florida High (FL)

Jaylyn Middleton was the only girl on the roster a season ago … she returns looking to punch her ticket to the state tournament this season.

We only had one girl compete last season and are looking to grow the program.

State of the Program ... Fletcher Girls (FL)

Fletcher (FL)

Head Coach: Joseph Stetzer

Staff: Janet Davis

Girls have been competing in Florida a long time … but the recently sanctioned sport is paying big dividends in programs that have not traditionally had a ton of girls competing. A good example of that is Fletcher. The Senators didn’t have a program a season ago, but Coach Stetzer and Coach Davis have pulled together a solid group ready to get to work this season.

Five freshmen to keep an eye right off the bat include Marina Andrews (115), Nicole Anderson (120), Finn Arthur (125), Milani Turner (190), and Hailee Henslee (235). Other Senators to watch include Olivia Hewitt, Emma Milan, Cheyanna Ocon, Tanaya Matthews, Cloe Vila, Gabriella Perez and Nicole Ingle. This will be a young squad that will continue to develop as they gain more mat time … it will be interesting to see where they end up - not only at the end of this season, but in a few years.

As we launch our Girls team we are looking forward to building the team and competing. Our girls are eager to learn and prove themselves. The program is bright as we get started.

State of the Program ... Alcoa Girls (TN)

Alcoa (TN)

Head Coach: Brian Gossett

Staff: Mo Harrison, JD Smither

Emma Young qualified a year ago for Alcoa and returns looking to make a run at the top step at either 170 or 195. She is joined by Daniela Espinoza and Betsy Sanchez. As Coach Gossett says … The Tornadoes are recruiting to grow their girls program and hoping to add Espinoza and Sanchez as State Qualifiers in 2023.

Alcoa is looking to get more individual state qualifiers in 2023. We want to continue to grow the girls program and are working toward having enough participation to compete in duals.
