Freshman Lillian Prendergast reached the podium with a fourth-place finish in the 103-weight class on Saturday, as the Trojans competed at the Eagle Madness Open, hosted by Life University.
The University of Mount Olive women's wrestling program featured eight wrestlers across seven different weight classes. It marked the second open competition of the season for the Trojans following a dual match victory over Bluefield State earlier this week.

The Trojans had 17 wrestlers compete in the event after securing a conference victory at Bluefield State earlier in the week. Mount Olive totaled over 35 victories while recording 14 falls and 14 decisions during the competition.
The brotherly duo of senior Jake Nicolosi and freshman Brent Nicolosi each placed second overall in their respective weight classes on Sunday. In the 133-weight class, redshirt sophomore Jeffrey Richards and freshman Eli Pendergrass each reached the podium on Sunday.

The No. 2 Life University women's wrestling team went 3-1 Friday while hosting the Eagle Madness Duals.
The Running Eagles defeated No. 17 Lindsey Wilson, (RV) Brewton-Parker, and NCAA Division III Marymount (Va.). The women's team then hosted the defending NCAA Champion Hawkeyes from Iowa in a FloWrestling dual in the Eagles' Nest, falling to the Hawkeyes 30-14.

The Life University women's wrestling team had an impressive showing at the Eagle Madness Open, with multiple athletes delivering standout performances that led to numerous podium finishes. The Running Eagles showcased strength in every weight class, securing three individual titles, dominant showings from Anaya Falcon, Salyna Shotwell, and Ugochi Anunobi.

In the team's first dual of the season, Life University wrestling downed Brewton-Parker College with a convincing final score of 51-4. The match began with a strong performance from Tyree Henry at 125 pounds, who pinned Tavares Gates in 4:36, putting Life ahead 6-0. Ethan Sellers followed at 133 pounds, earning another pin in just 2:08, extending the lead to 12-0.
Brewton-Parker managed to narrow the gap at 141 pounds, with a major, bringing the score to 12-4. However, Life quickly regained control at 149 pounds as Cameron Crump pinned Conner Wright in 4:53, pushing the score to 18-4.
At 157 pounds, Colson Elliot continued the dominance with a technical fall (16-0) over David Washington in just 2:50, increasing Life's lead to 23-4. Alexander Clark followed with a fall over Gailan Wilds at 165 pounds in 4:19, and at 174 pounds, Gio Jackson earned a technical fall (15-0) in 3:10, bringing the score to 34-4.
Kendall Norfleet added another technical fall (20-5) over Zahquel Davis at 184 pounds in 4:14, while Tre Morrisette pinned Walker Anthony in 1:45 at 197 pounds. To cap off the evening, Earnest Johnson secured a fall over John Arellano in 3:41 at 285 pounds, completing the dominant victory for Life University.

The Fire had 17 wrestlers secure multiple wins on Sunday. Southeastern University's Kael Brisker and Lenny Feliciano highlight seven top four place-winners as part of the Georgia Open hosted by Emmanuel College.
SEU saw four other Fire wrestlers of Brodie Christmas (125), Brody Brisker (141), Ralph Sanchez (197) and Bryce Wheatley (285) all take 4th-place finishes in their respective weight classes.

Keiser wrestling continued their quick start to the season today at the Georgia Open, hosted by Emmanuel University. The Seahawks totaled 13 head-to-head wins in a loaded competition field that featured top athletes from NCAA Division I and II programs, as well as some of the best teams in the NAIA. Kei'Sun Sanders finished 3rd overall in the 285 underclassmen bracket, while Viliam Piekh placed 7th overall in the underclassmen 184 bracket.

Led by individual titles from Will Miller and Kaden Keiser, along with a memorable return to action from runner-up Sean Carter, App State Wrestling had representation in five of the 10 finals contested Saturday during the Mountaineer Invitational held in Varsity Gym.
With lots of ranked wrestlers from No. 8 Virginia Tech and No. 13 Minnesota in Boone, the other finalists for App State were Carter (141), Anthony Conetta (157) and Tomas Brooker (184).

Colt Brown recorded the highest finish of the day for the Falcons. Brown placed in second in the 125-weight class as he went 3-1. His wins included a 7-0 decision over Erick Hair of Southeastern, an 11-6 decision over Mikey Doerr of Life and a 4-2 decision over Gylon Sims of The Citadel to earn his way to the championship bout.
Jake Chisolm earned a third-place finish as he went 5-1 for UM. Chisolm's five wins included a 19-1 tech fall over Gailan Wilds of Brewton-Parker, a 20-5 tech fall over Izac Mmartinez of Southeastern, a 9-6 decision over Justin Hayes of The Citadel, a 6-3 decision over Cade Parent and a win in the third-place match by forfeit.

Caleb Moore earned a runner-up finish and three other wrestlers had top-four finishes as the Belmont Abbey opened its 2024 season at the Glenville State Invitational Saturday afternoon at Waco Arena. Moore won three bouts in the 197-pound weight class to advance to the championship match while John Carayiannis (149), Maxwell Kiel (174) and Elijah Boyd (133) all finished fourth in their respective weight classes. Mason Kump (184) and Marcus Harnarain (285) also finished sixth and seventh, respectively.

Emely Mejia Marinez and Avianna Velarde both placed at the Mount Olive Open in the first ever competition for the Newberry College women's wrestling team. After dropping her first match in the 117 pound championship bracket, Martinez bounced back to Catherine Head of Lindsey Wilson by technical fall 11-0, Jillian Ellis of Forge Wrestling by fall at just 54 seconds and Jamesa Robinson of Brewton- Parker by fall at 2:46 to advance to the consolation round final where she lost to Shammilka Miranda of Cumberlands to finish fourth. Velarde defeated Cynthia Smith of Mount Olive in her first match at 180 pounds by fall at 1:58 and Dymanique Jones who was wrestling unattached by fall at 2:30 before falling in the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket she lost but finished fifth in her weight class.

Morgan Repasky placed third in the 103-lb division. Repasky (3-1) started her day with a forfeit win. Her second round match resulted in a 10-0 win by tech fall. Repasky dropped the semifinal match by a 10-0 tech fall. In the consolation bracket, she advanced to the third place match thanks to a pin in 3:26. During her concluding match, she finished with a victory due to an injury default after the first round. Nicole Lewis also finished fourth competing in the 160-lb weight class.
