Pennsylvania Blue dominates to claim the 14U Women's Freestyle Title

Like their teammates across the civic center … the 14U Pennsylvania Blue girls looked to match the dominating performance of their 16U team. And they might have exceeded them. The top seed downed Tennessee 73-3, Arkansas 75-0, Georgia 66-7, Minnesota 60-16, and Texas 61-17 on Day 1 and then beat Oklahoma 62-10, Arizona 49-25, Wisconsin 62-9, and Illinois 58-18 to take the title. If we measured dominance solely on the difference in scores between them and their competition - the 14U’s would have bragging rights over the 16U’s … but make no mistake both were simply outstanding.

Georgia was the top team in the SE - taking 14th with Tennessee 15th. Georgia beat Tennessee 43-9 on Day 1 and finished the tournament 4-5 with a loss to California to finish their tournament. South Carolina was the only other SE team - they finished 7th in the Red/Blue Pool. Each team had a few holes and that certainly contributed to some of their losses. • 121/127 - Ellen Anderson (6-3)
