Grappler Fall Classic - 98-119 Preview

Here are a few quick graphics of the pre-seeds and who to watch this weekend in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Mendoza of Illinois leads the way and is the top-seed. Just one registrant from the SE - John Nelson of George.

Outstanding weight class. Watched Knox at the GA S32 EE and he was super impressive. He’s ranked higher by both The Open Mat and Flo, but comes in as the #3 pre-seed behind a pair of Michigan hammers (Heethuis and Davis. Florida is well represented with LHP’s Rivera seeded 4, Guzman #8, Morales #9, etc. Fretwell wrestled well last weekend.

Michigan’s Horwath is the top pre-seed with Baylor’s Nick Corday #2. Vince Bouzakis is an absolute hammer and should give anyone and everyone in this bracket a run for their money. Georgia is well represented with Cole Hunt #6, Darrell Rochester #7, Fincher #15, and Noble #16. Keep an eye on those not pre-seeded … Bradford, Levy, Rowland, and Hardy could make some noise in a deep weight class.

The headline here is so appropriate … Joey Cruz is a monster … the weight class is tough, but he might be on another level. Would love to have seen Alabama’s Cory Land in this bracket, but that didn’t materialize. The SE is well represented though with TN’s Trey Bates and NC’s Kyle Montaperto. Florida’s Cooper Haase was outstanding last weekend at the FL S32 EE tournament and will make some noise - count on it. Wadle, Mills, DiTomasso, and NC sophomore Brock Carey are a few of the others I’m watching.

125-140 Preview will drop later today
