What to Watch - Weekend of Nov 12-13
Opening weekend in Georgia and Alabama. Tennessee has some pre-season tournament on the docket as well. The opening weekend is usually focused on getting some mat time and for coaches to assess their teams after spending the last few weeks in the room working on things. Most teams are still missing their “big guys” because football season hasn’t finished or has just come to a close (honestly I don’t know when football finishes - I just remember coaching and they were always in their final week … our football team wasn’t really very good). That doesn’t mean the weekend is non-competitive, but it should give you an idea that some are focused on Junior Varsity tournaments and many of the tournaments are scrambles, round robins or pools. That is not the case everywhere though … we have identified a few tournaments around Alabama and Georgia that could feature some really good wrestling. Check them out if you have a chance.

Tullahoma Pre-Season should feature some good matchups as Tennessee gets a taste of the pre-season. Coaches rank their kids and then they are matched by talent and actual weight. The kids will wrestle 1-1-1 periods.
