Michael McAleavey - Citadel (Venetia, PA - Peters Township HS)

SENIOR: Wrestled in 18 matches…finished with an overall record of 15-3, and a perfect 10-0 mark in duals…secured eight falls on the season…needed only 44 seconds to secure the fall in season debut against St. Thomas…went 3-1 during the App State Individual Quad, suffering only loss of regular season to No. 20 Quinn Miller…went 8-0 in SoCon matches…became first Bulldog heavyweight since Odie Delaney to go undefeated in conference matches…five of the eight victories came by fall…needed only 92 seconds to secure a fall in first match of SoCon Championships…secured conference championship with a 5-3 victory…dropped a pair of close matches in the NCAA Tournament…fell in sudden victory in final match of season.

JUNIOR: Finished the year 22-18 overall…completed the season with a 5-2 SoCon record…picked up three victories at the SoCon Championships, finishing in third place.

SOPHOMORE: Finished the year 18-22 overall…completed the year 2-4 in the SoCon…earned third place at the SoCon Championships…named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN: Finished the year 14-20 overall…completed the year 4-2 in the SoCon…finished fourth at the SoCon Championships.

FRESHMAN: Competed in the Southeast Open and the Southern Scuffle.

HIGH SCHOOL: Wrestled at Peters Township High School…placed third at the PIAA AAA championships as a senior…won section championship and finished runner-up in the WPIAL his final season…placed fifth in the prestigious PowerAde Christmas Tournament…won match at the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic.


Tyrie Houghton - North Carolina State (Weddington, NC - Weddington HS)

2020-21
• Saw action in six matches, all extra matches, and all at heavyweight.
• Went a perfect 6-0 on the season. Four wins were for bonus, with three pins.

2019-20
• Pack’s starter at 197 pounds at the ACC Championship. Started at the #6 seed, but placed fourth and scored team points with the finish and with a bonus point win.
• Scored a 10-1 major decision over Duke’s Baker in the consolation semifinals.
• Went 16-12 on the season, 5-4 in duals.
• Placed third at the National Collegiate Open at 197 pounds to clinch the Pack’s spot at 197 for the ACCs. Lost his first match, but then won final five.
• Wrestled at heavyweight at the Southern Scuffle.
• Named to the 2020 All-ACC Academic Team and named to the 2019-20 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

2018-19
• One of four true freshmen to see action, finished 11-10 on the season mostly at 197 pounds.
• Last tournament of the year, wrestled up at heavyweight at the National Collegiate Open and placed fifth with a 3-2 record.
• Named to the 2018-19 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Prep
• Finished with a career record of 151-40.
• Won the 3A state title at 195 pounds as a senior, going undefeated as a senior, and won the state title with a pin.
• Also won state titles in freestyle and greco-roman in 2018 to become a Triple Crown winner.
• State runner-up at 182 pounds as a junior. He earned all-county and all-conference honors final three years.
• Took third at the 2018 FloNationals and was a 2018 NHSCA All-American with a fifth place finish.
