SEWrestle just got Scrappy

Pic Creds: Daniel Ward, Ward Wrestling

Hello there everyone.

Some of y’all might know who I am, but in case you don’t my name is Lucas DeSilva and I’m the owner of Fat & Scrappy Brand. Jason and I have worked together some over the past year, but you’re going to see me here a lot more. I am pumped to have the opportunity to work with him to produce even more content for the wrestling community.

A little about me: I’ve been wrestling since I was 4 years old. These days I wrestle for Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia after spending my COVID redshirt year at Kent State. I wrestled my freshman campaign last season, going 13-3 and earning an All-American finish. This year I spent mainly on the IR due to knee problems. I am feverishly working on not only my craft, but my health, so that I’m ready to get back on the mat in the fall.

I mentioned Fat & Scrappy. I started it my senior year of high school with backing from Compound Sportswear. It began almost as a meme because of my vehement disagreement with the “lean and mean” mindset. After NHSCA my sophomore year, when speaking to a college coach about weight cutting, I said Fat and Scrappy as a freestyle. It stuck, and I decided to put it on a shirt for a joke. We sold 90-some odd shirts. Since then, I have done a number of different seasonal runs including Fat & Spooky, Fat & Jolly, and more to come.

As of last season, Team Fat & Scrappy and the recently added Fierce & Scrappy are a pair of travel summer teams I am coaching at the HS level. Two seasons ago we finished, 8th at the Knockout Summer Slam while raising $10k and charging our kids at most $65 for the whole trip. I love coaching and I plan to continue coaching as long as I can, hopefully not only my own club but a high school team as well.

I am super excited to have the opportunity to produce web content for you. I think working closer with Jason will give me the opportunity to produce more and better content while hopefully expanding my knowledge of wrestling outside the state of Georgia.
