Kicking off Pool B in the 10am time slot was Powa and Kansas Marshals. Powa, a favorite to win the Elite 8 duals in 2023 would strike first and often. Powa would open the dual with back-to-back wins at 100 pounds and 106 pounds when Case Bell (POWA) majored Jarrett Smith (Kansas Marshals) 14-2, and Rocco Cassioppi (POWA) defeated Ezekiel Witt (Kansas Marshals) via 16-11 decision to take an early 7-0 lead. The Kansas Marshals would respond at 113 pounds after Aydan Thomas (Kansas Marshals) majored Revin Dickman (POWA) 14-4 to bring the score to 7-4. Powa would then win the next five matches. 120 pounds to 145 pounds to take a commanding lead. Moses Mendoza (POWA) defeated Hunter Taylor (Kansas Marshals) via 7-5 decision, Sebastian Degennaro (POWA) defeated Cannon Acklin (Kansas Marshals) via 5-3 decision, Drew Gorman (POWA) defeated Noah Nininger (Kansas Marshals) via 2-0 decision, Alex Braun (POWA) would pin Gavin Linsman (Kansas Marshals), and Pierson Manville (POWA) defeated Christopher Coats (Kansas Marshals) via 3-0 decision to take the 25-4 lead. Clayton Giddens (Kansas Marshals) would defeat Kael Voinovich (POWA) via 7-3 decision to bring the dual to 25-7 at 152 pounds. Ethan Birden (POWA) would extend Powa’s lead to 30-7 with a tight 3-2 decision win over Max Norman (Kansas Marshals) at 160 pounds, before Elijah Penton (Kansas Marshals) defeated Connor McCloskey (POWA) via 11-6 decision at 170 pounds to bring the dual to 30-10 still in Powa’s favor. Powa would then once again go on a run to lock up the dual with four straight wins. 182 pounds to 285 pounds. Harvey Ludington (POWA) tech falled Peyton Westphal (Kansas Marshals) 18-2, Anthony Harris (POWA) majored Landon Jobber-Spence (Kansas Marshals) 9-0, Trevyn Gates (POWA) majored Sam Murphy (Kansas Marshals) 11-0, and John Prado (POWA) would pin Christian Bell (Kansas Marshals) to end the dual. Powa defeated the Kansas Marshals 47-10.

 

Carnage vs. Black Mambas

In what ended up being a very lopsided dual, Carnage would show dominance over the competition with only one loss across all weight classes. Carnage would win the first nine matches in a row! 106 pounds to 160 pounds. Carson Craft (Team Carnage) defeated Jeremiah Waldschmidt (Black Mambas) via 6-0 decision, Henry Aslikyan (Team Carnage) defeated Gabe Ballard (Black Mambas) via 13-9 decision, Abram Cline (Team Carnage) defeated Colyn Limbert (Black Mambas) via 4-1 decision, Gauge Botero (Team Carnage) pinned Bryson Valdez (Black Mambas), Kake Hockaday (Team Carnage) tech falled Dimitri Alarcon (Black Mambas) 20-4, Dawson Johnson (Team Carnage) defeated Ayden Bostick (Black Mambas) via 3-0 decision, Tyler Guerra (Team Carnage) would pick up the forfeit, Gabriel Bouyssou (Team Carnage) pinned Bradley Williams (Black Mambas), Jason Mara (Team Carnage) defeated Drew McGorty (Black Mambas) via 8-1 decision, and Collin Guffey (Team Carnage) defeated Jordan Chapman (Black Mambas) via 5-2 decision to take a commanding 41-0 lead. The lone points for the Black Mambas came at 170 pounds when Israel Perez (Black Mambas) picked up six points after a Nate Blanchette (Team Carnage) injury to bring the dual score to 41-6. Carnage would win out the remaining weight classes, 182 pounds to 285 pounds. Braidon Woodward (Team Carnage) defeated De Alcapone Veazy (Black Mambas) via 7-6 decision, Karson Tompkins (Team Carnage) tech falled Alex Smith (Black Mambas) 16-0, Brenan Morgan (Team Carnage) tech falled Christian Preston (Black Mambas) 15-0, and Mark Effendian (Team Carnage) defeated Zayne Candelaria (Black Mambas) via 4-1 decision. Carnage defeated the Black Mambas 57-6.

Kansas Marshals vs. Carnage

Kicking off the 12pm slot was the Kansas Marshals and Carnage. Carnage picked up a dominate win in the first round, while the Kansas Marshals would get blow out by Powa in round one. Surprisingly, the Kansas Marshals would jump out to an early 7-0 lead with back-to-back wins at 100 and 106 pounds. Jarrett Smith (Kansas Marshals) defeated Carson Craft (Team Carnage) via 2-0 decision, and Ezekiel Witt (Kansas Marshals) majored Henry Aslikyan (Team Carnage) 18-5. Carnage would then pick up wins at 113, 120, and 126 pounds when Abram Cline (Team Carnage) defeated Aydan Thomas (Kansas Marshals) via 4-1 decision, Gauge Botero (Team Carnage) majored Hunter Taylor (Kansas Marshals) 8-0, and Kake Hockaday (Team Carnage) defeated Cannon Acklin (Kansas Marshals) via 7-2 decision to take the 10-7 lead. The Kansas Marshals would retake the lead at 132 pounds after Noah Nininger (Kansas Marshals) majored Dawson Johnson (Team Carnage) 16-4 to take the 11-10 lead, before Carnage picked up back-to-back wins at 138 and 145 pounds. Tyler Guerra (Team Carnage) majored Gavin Linsman (Kansas Marshals) 11-3, and Gabriel Bouyssou (Team Carnage) defeated Christopher Coats (Kansas Marshals) via 10-7 decision to give Carnage the lead once again 17-11. At 152 pounds, Clayton Giddens (Kansas Marshals) defeated Jason Mara (Team Carnage) in a tight 4-2 decision to bring the score to 17-14 still in favor of Carnage. Collin Guffey (Team Carnage) would tech fall Max Norman (Kansas Marshals) 16-0 at 160 pounds to extend the Carnage lead to 22-14. Elijah Penton (Kansas Marshals) would grab a forfeit at 170 pounds to bring the score to 22-20. Peyton Westphal (Kansas Marshals) would give the Marshals a one-point lead at 182 pounds after defeating Braidon Woodward (Team Carnage) via 7-1 decision. From here Carnage would grab the lead at 195 pounds when Karson Tompkins (Team Carnage) majored Landon Jobber-Spence (Kansas Marshals) 18-9 and didn’t look back. Winning out to secure the dual win. At 220 pounds Brenan Morgan (Team Carnage) majored Sam Murphy (Kansas Marshals) 9-0, and at 285 pounds Mark Effendian (Team Carnage) tech falled Christian Bell (Kansas Marshals) 15-0 to end the dual. Carnage defeated the Kansas Marshals 35-23.

 

Oklahoma Black Ops vs. Stronghold

The Oklahoma Black Ops and Stronghold would trade tech falls at 100 and 106 pounds to tie at 5 early when Kole Davidheiser (Oklahoma Black Ops) tech falled Carea Powe (Stronghold) 21-3, and Kyan Simon (Stronghold) tech falled Will Atkinson (Oklahoma Black Ops) 17-0. The Oklahoma Black Ops would win the next six straight matches from 113 pounds to 145 pounds. Jason Godwin (Oklahoma Black Ops) majored Chase Walker (Stronghold) 11-1, Devon Miller (Oklahoma Black Ops) tech falled Nick Sykes (Stronghold) 17-0, Chris Bedford (Oklahoma Black Ops) majored Zach Bosken (Stronghold) 9-0, Hudson Hackbarth (Oklahoma Black Ops) defeated Kiowa Vines (Stronghold) via 5-0 decision, Hunter Hollingsworth (Oklahoma Black Ops) tech falled Yanik Simon (Stronghold) 16-0, and Beau Hickman (Oklahoma Black Ops) defeated Daishaun Powe (Stronghold) via 5-0 decision to give the Oklahoma Black Ops a 30-5 lead. Christopher Mance (Oklahoma Black Ops) majored Cody Kirk (Stronghold) 14-0 at 160 pounds to extend the lead to 34-8, before Oliver Howard (Stronghold) narrowly edged out Jude Randall (Oklahoma Black Ops) 2-0 at 170 pounds to bring the score to 34-11. The Oklahoma Black Ops would once again extend their lead to 38-11 when Talon McCollom (Oklahoma Black Ops) majored Cason Howle (Stronghold) 12-2 at 182 pounds. With the dual locked up for the Oklahoma Black Ops going into the 195-pound match, Stronghold would continue to battle. Winning both 195 pounds and 220 pounds. Mason Ellis (Stronghold) would defeat Liam Daniels (Oklahoma Black Ops) via 23-18 decision in what resembles more of a football score than a wrestling match score, and Kyle Olivera (Stronghold) would pin Jaylen Ignacio (Oklahoma Black Ops) to bring the score to 38-20 going into the 285-pound match. Ricky Thomas (Oklahoma Black Ops) would major Willie Cox (Stronghold) 12-0 to close out the dual. Oklahoma Black Ops defeated Stronghold 41-20.

Black Mambas vs. Oklahoma Black Ops

The Black Mambas were blown out in round one by a dominant Carnage team, while the Oklahoma Black Ops knocked off Stronghold. The dual would be tied at 5 after back-to-back tech falls at 100 and 106 pounds. Kole Davidheiser (Oklahoma Black Ops) tech falled Jeremiah Waldschmidt (Black Mambas) 15-0, then Gabe Ballard (Black Mambas) would tech fall Will Atkinson (Oklahoma Black Ops) TF 16-0. The Black Mambas would take the lead at 113 pounds when Colyn Limbert (Black Mambas) defeated Jason Godwin (Oklahoma Black Ops) via a 6-5 decision. The 8-5 lead wouldn’t last as the Oklahoma Black Ops would immediately respond at 120 pounds when Devon Miller (Oklahoma Black Ops) would tech fall Richard Carrier (Black Mambas) 21-2 to take the 10-8 lead. The Black Mambas would win the next two matches at 126 and 132 pounds to take the lead once again. Dimitri Alarcon (Black Mambas) defeated Chris Bedford (Oklahoma Black Ops) via 6-2 decision, and Ayden Bostick (Black Mambas) defeated Hudson Hackbarth (Oklahoma Black Ops) via 10-3 decision to take the 14-10 lead. The Oklahoma Black Ops would pick up six points via Hunter Hollingsworth (Oklahoma Black Ops) forfeit win at 138 pounds to jump ahead 16-14. Beau Hickman (Oklahoma Black Ops) would pin Bradley Williams (Black Mambas) at 145 pounds, and Layton Schneider (Oklahoma Black Ops) defeated Drew McGorty (Black Mambas) via sudden victory 6-3 at 152 pounds to extend the lead to 25-14. The Black Mambas would again respond at 160 and 170 pounds when Jordan Chapman (Black Mambas) pinned Christopher Mance (Oklahoma Black Ops), and Israel Perez (Black Mambas) defeated Jude Randall (Oklahoma Black Ops) via 9-3 decision to close the lead to 25-23. Talon McCollom (Oklahoma Black Ops) defeated De Alcapone Veazy (Black Mambas) via 4-2 decision to extend the lead to 28-23 at 182 pounds, before Alex Smith (Black Mambas) tech falled Liam Daniels (Oklahoma Black Ops) 18-1 to bring the dual to a 28-28 tie with two weights to go. Powa would face off with Stronghold in the second dual of the 2pm slot. Stronghold had dropped round one to the Oklahoma Black Ops, while Powa had knocked off the Kansas Marshals. Powa would go up 10-0 early after back-to-back tech falls at 100 and 106 pounds. Case Bell (POWA) tech falled Jose Cordero (Stronghold) 16-1, and Rocco Cassioppi (POWA) tech falled Kyan Simon (Stronghold) 17-0          . Chase Walker (Stronghold) would put Stronghold on the board at 113 pounds when he defeated Revin Dickman (POWA) via a tight 2-1 decision. Powa would win the next five matches. 120 to 145 pounds. Gabe Ballard (Black Mambas) would then defeat Ezekiel Witt (Kansas Marshals) via 17-12 decision at 106 pounds to bring the score to 6-3, but the Kansas Marshals would respond at 113 pounds when Aydan Thomas (Kansas Marshals) narrowly defeated Colyn Limbert (Black Mambas) via 8-7 decision to extend the lead to 9-3. At 120 pounds the Black Mambas would edge closer after Bryson Valdez (Black Mambas) defeated Hunter Taylor (Kansas Marshals) via an 8-4 decision to bring the score to 9-6. The Kansas Marshals would then win the next five matches and take a commanding lead in the dual. Winning 126 pounds to 152 pounds. The Oklahoma Black Ops would begin and end this dual on the winning side of things, but Powa was dominant throughout. Black Mambas vs. Stronghold

Gabe Ballard (Black Mambas) defeated Kyan Simon (Stronghold) via 8-3 decision, and Colyn Limbert (Black Mambas) majored Chase Walker (Stronghold) 13-1 to take the 7-4 lead. Stronghold would jump back in front 10-7 at 120 pounds when Nick Sykes (Stronghold) pinned Richard Carrier (Black Mambas). The Black Mambas would win 126 and 132 pounds to jump ahead once again when Dimitri Alarcon (Black Mambas) pinned Zach Bosken (Stronghold), and Ayden Bostick (Black Mambas) defeated Kiowa Vines (Stronghold) via 7-1 decision to bring the score to 16-10. Stronghold would then pick up wins at 138 to 152 pounds to jump in front again in what was a back and forth dual from the start.  Mal Puckett (Stronghold) grabbed the forfeit at 138 pounds, Daishaun Powe (Stronghold) pinned Bradley Williams (Black Mambas), and Hunter Sturgill (Stronghold) defeated Drew McGorty (Black Mambas) via 5-3 decision to take the 25-16 lead. At 160 pounds the Black Mambas would put a dent in the Stronghold lead when Jordan Chapman (Black Mambas) tech falled Cody Kirk (Stronghold) 18-1 to bring the score to 25-21. Stronghold would then close out the dual, winning 170 to 285 pounds and pick up the dual win. Oliver Howard (Stronghold) defeated Israel Perez (Black Mambas) via 4-1                decision, Cason Howle (Stronghold) grabbed the forfeit at 182 pounds, Mason Ellis (Stronghold) defeated Alex Smith (Black Mambas) via 6-4 decision, Kyle Olivera (Stronghold) defeated Christian Preston (Black Mambas) via 5-0 decision, and Tyson Russell (Stronghold) defeated Zayne Candelaria (Black Mambas) via 5-0 decision. Stronghold Defeated the Black Mambas 43-21.
