Pelham returns several hammers and should be in the mix in 6A. They will need to look to some new faces to help pick up the points lost by the graduation of State Champ Seth Branham and State Placer Noah Schilleci, but this is a solid group that knows how to win. Walt Calvert and Cash Tatum both made the podium a year ago and make up an important senior group that will lead Pelham into 2023-2024. Calvert and Tatum along with 2023 State Qualifiers Thomas Peerson and Tanner McCarthy as well as 2022 State Qualifier Trae Peeler will be counted on if Pelham is going to make a deep run in duals or finish in the top 5 at the traditional state tournament. Malachi Dahlen, Brayden Patterson, and Ameer Hasty gained valuable experience last year as freshmen. Keep an eye on incoming freshman Patrick Warner, 7th grader Maddox McDaniel along with Paul Peerson, Kamerin Mills, and Ian Chambers. Pelham has an nice mix of seniors as well as a solid group of underclassmen … it will be exciting to see this group progress as the season goes along. - SEWrestle
