Potential. That’s probably the best way to describe the 2023-24 Middle Creek Mustangs. Lots of returners with experience, but just one … Honor Paxton … that has been to the big dance previously. Paxton qualified a year ago as a freshman and will look to continue his upward climb by making the podium in 2024. Both Austin Smith and Micah Frye won matches at last year’s East Region tournament. Hutton Walters, Alan Mendoza-Cortez, and Jamison Allen all have post-season experience as well. All 5 will look to punch their ticket in 2024. Other returners looking to make some noise include Carter Goodwin, Peyton Lott, Anthony Polo Cardenas, Gage Fellows, Jake Doherty, Kaden Robinson, and Melik Murray. Keep an eye on Naylor Higgins - the freshman could turn some heads this season as well. - SEWrestle
