Lawson Jordan takes over the program and is excited about several of the pieces he has to work with in his first season. Dakota and Kai McCall will key pieces and join returning upperstate qualifiers Michael Aiken, Jordan Miles, and Leyden Gentry on the bottom half of the lineup. Gentry was on pace to have a solid season a year ago before an injury put him on the bench for the remainder of the season. Up top, Dees and Kemph return as does upperstate qualifier Michael Brown. The strength of this squad is down low, but each will be called on to do their part in 2023-2024.
On the girls side, Laurens is led by returning State Runner-up Emily Riopel. Riopel is one of the top girls in the state and has to be amongst the favorites to claim a title in 2024. Riopel is joined by senior Lindsey Simmons as well as a freshman to watch in Faith Kemph. Faith wrestled this summer on the South Carolina 14U at National Duals … given her experience she is certainly one to watch. - SEWrestle
