State of the Program ... Hough (NC)

Hough (NC)

Head Coach: Tripp Rogers (12 years)

Staff: Zack Rogers, Mike Higgins, Jason Hefner

Hough finished the 2022 season 7th at the traditional state tournament in 4A. They lose State Placer Darius Ward and State Qualifier Michael Pepe to graduation, but this is a team that remains largely intact and ready to make a run at the title in 2023. State Runners-up Jackson Rowling and Brandt Fajerman return and both should be amongst the favorites to claim an individual title this season. Don’t be surprised to see Rowling make a big jump up in weight after taking 2nd at 106 as a freshman.

The Huskies also return State Qualifiers Tyler Caldwell and Jason Sanders. Both Caldwell and Sanders won matches in Greensboro a year ago and having them get on the podium will be huge for the Huskies in the team race. Ultimately though it might come down to whether returners Will McRee, Sam Frederick, and Bo Schiano are able to take things to the next level and help the Huskies back into the top 5 (maybe the top 3). All three have post-season experience and getting 7 Huskies to Greensboro would be huge.

The goal as always is to win a State Championship. We will do everything possible to reach that goal
