State of the Program ... Elizabethton (TN)

Elizabethton (TN)

For the last several years, the Cyclones have been largely represented by Jonathan Morton. Morton, a multiple time State Champ, wasn’t the only hammer the Cyclones had, but he certainly set the tone for the squad. This year’s squad features five Seniors that will look to make a lasting impression. Returning State Qualifiers Trenton Taylor, Holden Roaten, Darris Reece, and Logan Watson will look to push their way onto the podium. Taylor, Roaten, and Reece each had wins at last year’s state tournament and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see 3 Cyclones on the podium in February.

Isiah King also returns and will look to finish his Senior campaign with a trip to the state tournament. This team will certainly miss having Morton in the lineup, but have a solid core of Seniors to lead the rest of the Cyclones in 2021-22.

We have a good deal of experience on the mat this year. As a team we are driven to elevate our level of wrestling to the elite level that produces consistent state placers. This season is all about the work, about outworking our opponent in evry phase of the match.
