State of the Program ... Lassiter (GA)

Lassiter (GA)

Lassiter finished 2nd to Buford in the 2021 team race at the 6A Traditional State Tournament. The Trojans lost some significant firepower with the graduation of State Champ RJ Weston, State Runner-up Frankie Valle, as well as State Placer Jack Dyess (and others). The Trojans lost more than 50% of their points (point-getters) from 2021 and will need some others to step up if they are going to be back in the mix again in 2022.

The Trojans do return State Champ David Panone and State Placers Ananth Manibushan and Jacobee Connell. All three will play a huge role in 2022 and each will be hunting the top step in February. The key for Lassiter is getting returning State Qualifiers Riley McElligot and Anthony Fiorenza on the podium, getting Alex Le and Noah Flisser to the state tournament and continue developing the next group which includes Carter Brickley. May Prado, Girls State Placer, is tough and will almost certainly be amongst the favorites to claim a state title at the Girls State Tournament (she was 4th in 2021).

Graduated some firepower for sure, but we still return a solid team. We’re expecting to put a lot on the podium in February.
