Coach Davis continues the build at McDowell … qualifying 4 a year ago, taking 5th in 4A West, and returning 9 (that’s how many are eligible to return from who wrestled at regions in 2021) means that McDowell should continue their upward trend. Tobias Finn and Preston Dennison have graduated, but this year’s Senior class is special. Jesse Barrier and Collin Campbell both return after qualifying a year ago and both will be hunting a spot on the podium.
The key to McDowell pushing the 4A West teams for the top spot will be the leadership of fellow Seniors Bruin Lytle and Luke Roberts. Each will look to finish off their senior season by punching their ticket to the big dance. Keep an eye on Bryson Stines, Morgan Repasky, and Josh Punch.
“The team is very excited for the upcoming season. This team will have at least 6 seniors on it. All of the seniors on this team are natural leaders and are the hardest working kids in the room. We are returning two state qualifiers from last year and and a few others that I am expecting big things from. I think we are going to surprise some people.”
