Chattooga (GA)

Head Coach: Brian Beasley (entering 29th season)

Staff: Andy Stivers

Just two years removed from their run to a title - Chattooga Coach Brian Beasley has a new crop of hammers ready to do it again. Two years ago Chattooga graduated a large number of State Placers … State Runner-up Rowan Burdick (who was a sophomore on that squad) returns for his final season looking to claim an individual title and help develop this next wave that begins their quest. Burdick is joined by State Qualifiers Gene Keith and Matthew Gray as well as Devon Heroch and a ton of freshman.

Burdick, Heroch, and company will remain the core, but it will be up to the new group of freshmen if the team is going to excel in 2022. Regardless of whether the team sees success in 2022 or not - the future looks bright for Chattooga. Keep an eye out for these freshmen … Cole Barfield, Gavin Carlton, Landon Carlton, Zayden Cook, and others … they will look to make some noise this season and for many more to come.

Predominantly a freshman team this year. Rowan Burdick is the only returning placer (2nd @160) with three other state qualifiers returning (Matthew Gray & Gene Keith-2021/Devon Heroch-2019). Looking forward to an outstanding young group with strong senior leadership.

Ed White (FL)

Head Coaches: Avery Wilds

Staff: Walter Goodman

Coach Wilds and Goodman continue to recruit at Ed White … the team is small especially with the graduation of Sebastian Gonzalez and Keyshaun Spivey, but that doesn’t mean that the Commanders don’t have a few kids we need to pay attention to as we begin the 21-22 season. Da’vaughn Patterson won 2 matches at the 1A Region 1 tournament in 2021 and should be the Commanders best shot at punching his ticket to the state tournament in 2022. Keep an eye on Jordan Jackson and Joshua Ethridge as well as transfer Benny Lewis … each will look to make some noise in 2022.

Our team is small but growing everyday.were looking to make a big things happen this year and cause a lot of upsets.

State of the Program ... Parkwood (NC) Girls

Parkwood (NC) Girls

Head Coach: Chris Linthicum (entering 5th year at Parkwood)

Staff: Donnee Grase, Charles D'Apice, Kyle Ketchum, Tyler Michaels.

The momentum around girls wrestling and the building of girls programs in North Carolina only continues to gain steam. Parkwood has 5 ladies in the lineup ready to scrap in 21-22. Keep an eye on Savannah Bramhall, Aurora Efird, Averi Lavoie, Mariel Mayo-Perez, and Marissa De La Cruz as they look to claim a girls title in 2022 and push the Parkwood program to the top in North Carolina.

We are very excited about the continued growth of our girl’s wrestling program. The goal is to build off our state tournament performance from last year. There is a good buzz around our school already about it so we’re hopeful for a good turn out this season. We are trying to build a very competitive schedule. We are hosting our own individual tournament on 11/20 and also going to Holy Angles, Rock Hill’s Bearcat invitational, and Mallard Creek’s tourney. We also have some duals scheduled this season with Rock Hill SC, and Hoke County in hopes to generate even more excitement about women’s wrestling.
