Flagler Palm Coast vs. Hagerty

  • It was over when … Kole Hannant got the fall at 120 over Carson Greenier. Technically the dual was still in doubt, but Hannant and Hald were ready to shut the door and push the Bulldogs through to the Final 4. The two teams were tied at 24 heading into the final 3 matches … 120, 126, and 132.

  • Hagerty got wins by Ethan Gomez and Hunter Tate (close 1 point matches) at 182 and 195 and had a chance knowing that they were giving up 6 at 106. giving up a fall at 285 to Seth Davis and then Hannant’s fall at 120 really seemed to take the air out.

Wellington vs. Ft Pierce Central

  • It was over when … the Marvel’s came through in the clutch to seal the win for the Wolverines. FPC got out to a lead to start with wins by Fleitas, Apicella, and Orr to lead 13-7 after 5 matches. Falls by Ortiz and Jacas up top put Ft Pierce Central up 25-15 heading into the bottom part of the lineup. Wellington took the lead late with a Patrick Jones fall over Konrad McArdle at 120 to go up 31-25, but FPC still had William McArdle and Russell Raabe to come. Sam Marvel’s 8-7 win over William McArdle at 126 sealed it 34-25 and Wellington moved on.

  • An outstanding dual that saw Wellington score the final 25 points to get the win. It was surprisingly close given that Wellington won 9 of the 14 matches, but an 8-7 win at the end was typical of this back and forth dual. In fact, Marvel scored 6 points in the final period to clinch the win.

South Dade vs. Cypress Bay

  • It was over when … Alex Cuoto started a string of 31 unanswered points by South Dade from 152 to 220 - pushing the dual score to 36-6 heading into 285.

  • We’ve waited for Palmetto Ridge vs. South Dade all season … we get that matchup tomorrow (its just unfortunate that it doesn’t happen in the finals).

Palmetto Ridge vs. Osceola

  • It was over when … Austin Foye put up 6 for Palmetto Ridge at 285 and then the Bears added another 12 with forfeits at 106 and 113. Foye’s fall was the nail in the coffin - although Palmetto Ridge was already cruising after putting up 27 in the first 6 matches.

  • Palmetto Ridge looked like one of the best teams in 3A and we will get to see if they can get it done tomorrow when they get South Dade.
