Girls State Duals Brackets, Teams, and Lineups

Welcome to the first-ever Sanctioned Girls Duals State Championship … yes it is the first in Tennessee, but it is the first nationwide according to the Wrestle Like a Girl organization. Below are the possible lineups for each team.

The State Championship will once again have to go through Clarksville. Both Clarksville and Rossview represent the area and they are the favorites of this tournament.

Rossview vs. Tullahoma

Some very good individual matchups that will go a long way on determining who claims this dual.

Keep an eye on:

  • 100 Ava Teasley vs. Payton Agnell

  • 132 Kelsey Mize vs. Olivia Hogan

  • 138 Musarra/Leberte vs. Aloura Nichols

  • 185 McMillan/Nikolao vs. Isabel Petty

Rossview will look to Alexis Mize, Analise Jetter and others to set the tone … Tullahoma counters with Alanna Coker, but expect the four matches above to really set one team in front of the other (especially if they can take 3 of 4 of them).

Tullahoma is always solid from top to bottom and they wrestle hard. They will be a tough out for everyone in the field.

Cleveland vs. Clarksville

Nationally-ranked Piper Fowler sets the tone for Cleveland and is a force … but you can’t win a dual with one hammer. Cleveland will need a bunch if they are going to knock off a very good Clarksville team. Clarksville turns to Ella ‘Lina Gonzalez and Lilli Cobb to get their team going … that leaves the following matchups that are critical to one (or the other) taking this one:

  • 120 Jakyra Humes vs. Stewart/Weatherspoon (likely Stewart, but Weatherspoon will step in and wrestle well if needed)

  • 194 Tijia Dodd vs. Christen Weatherspoon

  • 235 Diamond Young vs. Shaniayha Wysinger

Clakrsville Is particularly tough from 115-141 … Cleveland will need someone to step in and win a match or two in that run or Clarksville might get the momentum rolling in their favor.

Cleveland is in its first year as a program and they could prove to be the Cinderella team who breaks the bracket.
