Florida Super 32 EE Tourney - Results

Osceola High School welcomed wrestlers from all over the Southeast for the Super 32 Early Entry Tournament this past Saturday in Kissimmee, Florida. As has been typical of this tournament in previous years, some weight classes were very deep. If you are interested …. here is a short preview I did on Thursday before the event.

As you can see not everyone that was registered made the trip, but the quality speaks for itself. Interested in the brackets?

Onto the results:

Morales jumped out to a commanding lead only to watch it slip away before being cradled and pinned at 5:14. Unseeded Anderson Heap pinned Tellez in the quarters before losing to Guzman … he rebounded with a nice 4-1 win over Matthew Velasco before taking an injury default win over Tellez for 3rd.

Velasco lost 7-3 in the first round and then rattled off 7 wins in a row to get back to the consi semis. Tellez rebounded from his quarterfinal loss to Heap to down Washburn in the top consi semi 8-6.

He and Poe were much closer in the finals with Haase leading 6-4 going into the 3rd before pulling away for an 11-6 win. Poe, the 6 seed, took care of business on the bottom side. State Runner-up, was in complete control this weekend … downing Jonny Dobbs 14-3, Logan Paradice 10-0, Massari by tech fall before beating Minto 6-2 in the finals. The top side of the bracket went pretty much according to the seeds … with Lanster and Paradice both making the quarters. He then downed top seed Smith with a fall after being up 7-1. He put an exclamation point on the weekend after pinning Maldonado in the finals.
