Who graduates 3 State Champ and returns the next year as the heavy favorites to claim another team title? Eastside! The Eagles are amongst the best teams in the Southeast and are the best team in the Palmetto State regardless of classification. Coach Koz and his staff have built a machine and the next group is just as hungry - perhaps hungrier - than the group that just graduated. The expectations remain the same for Eastside - regardless of the lineup. Now don’t get me wrong … the loss of Tice and the Schrader hammers … will be felt in the room. They have been leaders and set the example, but the next group that includes Jack Wyland, Baron Leonard, and George Maholtz will hold this team accountable. The Eagles return four champs (including freshman Champ Peyton Schrader) plus State Runners-up Sam Wyland and Hank Lee (who are also just rising sophomores). The continued development of Chris Thompson, Barnett Langston, Bronek Snizaski, Jensen Stone, and Josiah McGee is what makes Eastside not only talented, but also a deep squad. Seniors Jaxon Wooten, Cliff Haynie, and Sincere Thom will be called on to battle for spots in the lineup and keep an eye on a quartet of freshmen that will look to solidify the bottom of the Eagles lineup. Nate Manos, Ray Ray Johnson, Owen Salvato, and Kellen Smouse might not be names you know at the moment, but you will by the time 2024 is finished. - SEWrestle
