SEWrestle NOTE: Gibbons graduated some firepower in Yancey, Tauriello and Hudson, but this team is poised to make a run for a 1A title in 2024. They will need to battle their way through a very tough Region 4, but if they can get some of their younger hammers through to Kissimmee … this is a team that could make some noise. The team is led by 4 returning placers including State Champ Michael Mocco. Frankie Florio, a champ 2 years ago, Picallo, and Pantuso all have the ability to climb to the top of the podium as well. If Parker and Simmons can punch their ticket again and make the podium Gibbons will be tough to beat. Ultimately it will come down to the development of Michaels, McWilliams, Lopez, and Hooten … if they can punch their ticket - look out for Gibbons. Keep an eye on Sophomore David Byelick, Senior Michael Palermo and Caden Cagaino (who could be an important piece for Gibbons at 113 or 120).
