Buford is stacked from top to bottom and will once again be in the hunt for a title in 2024. The Wolves came up just short to Camden County in both the state duals final as well as the traditional state tournament. This is a motivated group that looks to reclaim the title in 2024. And they have the horses to do it. Led by State Champs Drew Gorman and Gavin Pope as well as State Runners-up Rylan Ibold, DJ Clarke, Maddox McArthur, Conor McCloskey, Grayson Santee, and Aaron Riner … this group has the ability to crown 8 individual champions. The difference between Camden and Buford a year ago was the depth … Camden put all 14 on the podium (and yet Buford still had a shot in the finals). So depth is going to play a key role for Buford if they are going to retake the title. State Placer Kieron McCormack has the ability to claim a title at 126 or 132, but it will likely come down to how well Hudson Danielson, Kanon Nelson, Jackson Prehar, and Garrett Spence wrestle. If those four can find the podium … Buford will be tough to beat. Keep an eye on freshmen Tyson Matz (106) and Callum McCormack (157-165) … both will be important pieces to the puzzle as well as Isaac Melber (126-132) and Tre Butler (215-285). - SEWrestle
