The Champs are back and ready to defend their dual and traditional state titles. Coach Strobel has built quite the program at West Oak. They have enjoyed a ton of success … so to say this might be the best team West Oak has ever produced is quite a statement. They graduate some hammers and a ton of points, but this year’s team is poised to make a run at being the best. Three State Champs return in AJ De La Cruz, Teague Strobel, and Marcus Thaxton as well as State Placer Landon Allen and State Qualifier Jared Cruz. The bottom of this lineup is stacked with De La Druz, Strobel, Peyton Durham, Abram Rogers, and Landon Allen … add in freshman hammers Gunner Mease and Sy Strobel and West Oak could be unstoppable from 106-132/138. The key to West Oak is in the middle where they lost Freeman, Davis, Collins and Damien Thaxton. 145 lb. State Champ Marcus Thaxton will take care of his spot, but it will be up to Anthony Priole, John Canfield, Lane Allen, Elijah Hanks, and Patrick Rholetter to secure their spots. Don’t be surprised to see Ryan Driver, Holden Durham, Drake Smith, Gatlin Greer, and Trenton Hobbs push for the spots as well. Ryan Addis and Corbin Dickson will teammate up with returning qualifier Cruz to handle things up top for the Warriors. - SEWrestle
