State of the Program ... Fletcher (FL)
Fletcher (FL)
Head Coach: Joseph Stetzer
Staff: Mark Smilek, Daniel Holmes
Fletcher has developed into a top 25 program in 2A over the last several seasons … this year they make the move up to 3A. The Senators lose State Qualifier Ryden Ashmore as well as Chris Strong and others to graduation, but this is a program that could be even better in 2023. State Placer Toby Matson returns and will look to claim the top spot at 285 in 3A this season. This is still a fairly young squad that should only continue to get better as the season progresses. Matson, Jackson McEachin, and Josh Daltro will provide the senior leadership … both McEachin and Daltro won matches at regions a year ago and will look to punch their ticket in their final season.
Keep an eye on Cole O’Brien, Joseph Kolhaas, and James Baur … all three won matches a regions a year ago and will look to make their mark this season. Watch for Landon Locantora, Jimi Baur, Bryson Henson, Aiden Locantora, Andrew Mincks, and Davis Jackson to hold down the bottom part of the lineup (from 106-126). O’Brien, Elias Twigg, Noah Stidfole, Kyle Lonergan, Ben Butel, Elisha Purdy, McEachin, and Daltro will makeup the middle part of the lineup … and probably where Fletcher will be the strongest (from 132-160). Keep an eye on Kolhaas, Theo Brase, Lashawn Porter, Silas King, Vincent Gouin, Andrew Jackson, Eysaw Parrish, Ethan Proffitt, and Matson up top. If Jackson and Parrish continue to develop the trio of Jackson, Parrish, and Matson could prove tough. Tannre Sullivan and Joseph Rodriguez will also look to break into the lineup and make some noise in 22-23.
NOTE: All mentions of placers and qualifiers in the body are based on the 2021-22 season. If a wrestler placed higher or lower in a previous year it is not captured above.
