State of the Program ... Florida High (FL)

Florida High (FL)

Head Coach: Clay Allen (entering 13th season)

The Noles remain very young … not many seniors on a squad made up mostly of sophomores. That said, expect the Noles to be back in the mix again in 22-23. Caleb Keigans and Liam Hawkes have both graduated, but this is a team that returns ten that wrestled at the regional tournament and 2 that competed at the state tournament a season ago. Xander Hawkes and Dean Wright punched their ticket a year ago … expect them to do so again and be hunting for a spot on the podium this season. Hawkes and Wright should make up the strength of the Noles lineup that begins with Troy Carroll at 138/145 up to Collin Bishop at 220.

DJ Richardson nearly punched his ticket a season ago and should be back to lead the lightweights (slotting in at 106 or 113). He is joined down low by Jasper Croom, Cash Ganim, Reis Suskey, Sterling Hollingsworth, Hunter Stanley, and DelAndre Leconte. Keep an eye on Wyatt Mann, Nic Roeder, and Terrance Hinson as they look to make some noise in the middle with Hawkes, Wright, and Carroll. Up top Collin Bishop nearly punched his ticket last year as well and he is joined by Matthew Tucker and Josiah Houston. This is a good squad that should only get better as the season progresses.

We are young and talented- if this group learned lessons last year, we have the opportunity to have a very good season. The goals for us will remain the same every year- we aim to finish as a top 10 team in the state.
