State of the Program ... Lincoln (FL)

Lincoln (FL)

Head Coach: Mike Crower (entering 29th season)

Staff: Jake Burch, Reggie Toombs

The Trojans lost some absolute hammers with the graduation of State Runner-up Cayden Bevis, State Placer Omarion LaRoach, and State Qualifier Nic Weaver. Coach Crowder and company will turn their attention to a trio of 2022 State Qualifiers to lead the way in 22-23. Jashawn Washington and Van Caceres qualified a year ago as sophomores and Connor Edwards qualified as a Junior … all three will look to punch their ticket again and climb onto the podium in Kissimmee in 2023. Joining Washington and Caceres at the bottom of the Trojan lineup are Joe Tucker and Zak Jurado - both have post-season experience as well.

The key to the Trojans lineup could come in the middle from 132-152 with Wes Smitha, Jermaine Yarborough, Zaire Ferenanders, and Vinny Crump … for Lincoln to make some noise as a team this group will need to step up and make themselves known in 22-23. The Trojans should be stout from 160 up as they will look to Connor Edwards, Mason Crowder, Keller Shea, and Jakob Nowak. Crowder returns after being out a year ago and both Shea and Nowak won matches in the Region 1 tournament and will look to punch their ticket this season. Jordan Baker and Ryder Luck will be counted on to take care of things up top. Lincoln has a chance to be a very good team - Washington, Caceres, and Edwards will look to add a few more wins in Kissimmee this season and be hunting a spot on the podium.

NOTE: All mentions of placers and qualifiers in the body are based on the 2021-22 season. If a wrestler placed higher or lower in a previous year it is not captured above.
