State of the Program ... Collierville (TN)

Collierville (TN)

The Dragons finished 15th at last year’s 3A State Tournament and with the “shake-up” in teams in Tennessee it will be interesting to see how things play out in 2022. Collierville remains in the largest class (now 2A) and will see many of the same teams at both regionals and sectionals. The Dragons graduated 7 last season including State Placer Wyatt Lankford and State Qualifiers Gage King, Christian Flynn, and Christian Iroh.

Still the Dragons return some firepower in State Placer Cameron Cook and State Qualifiers Damen Pullen and Noah Holcomb. The Dragons will look to Derek Corbin, Alex Lockhart, Dustin Branham, and Dalton McNutt to step up and make an impact in 2022. Keep an eye on New Jersey move-in Aiden Miller. Love the quote from Coach Loeffler - “there will be a lot of chances for underclassmen to step up” … who is up to the task?

Cameron Cook, placed 6th last year at 145, and Damen Pullen, returning Region 8 champion, will carry much of the load for this inexperienced team. With 3 returning state qualifiers and 6 starters returning, there will be a lot of chances for underclassmen to step up.
