Coach Monteith’s program has been a model of consistency over the last decade. They have had at least one state qualifier for years (further back than the above graph shows) and put 4 through to the big dance in 2023. Trevor Freeman is the returning State Champ at 113 and is an absolute force … the state qualifier streak won’t be broken in 2024. He is joined by returning qualifier Chaz Knox who finished 3rd in the Midwest Region last year and will look to climb onto the podium this year. The Wonders also return senior Noah Bryan-Haigler and Drake Watts … both wrestled at the Midwest region a year ago and will look to punch their ticket to the big dance this season. The key to the team’s success is a quartet of sophomores - three of whom also have post-season experience. Kuddie and Cook both won several matches at last year’s region tournament and each looks primed to punch their ticket in 2024. Keep an eye on freshman Landon Logan as well … the 106 will look to make some noise in his first campaign for the Wonders. - SEWrestle
