Madison Baxter has been the steadying force for Pepperell for years … she is now gone and the torch passes to sophomore state qualifier Gabby Waddell. Waddell went 2-2 at the 2023 State Tournament and will look to take the next step and climb onto the podium in 2024. She is joined by returner Malia Minter who just missed punching her ticket to Macon last year. Pepperell has few to keep an eye on … a pair of freshmen in Melany Islas and Lizbeth Velasquez, a pair of sophomores in Kelsey Campbell and Makaylee McCrary, and senior Katie Hennon. It will be interesting to see how this team continues to progress through the 23-24 season. - SEWrestle

Grovetown was solid with just 4 a year ago … takign second as a team in Area 1 and finishing 18th at the traditional state tournament. But their heavy hitter - State Runner-up Gabby Phillips has graduated and Grovetown will look to a new leader. Shaniyah McDaniel qualified a year ago as a freshman is definitely one to watch. Niyah Ashley and Mya Picart both won multiple matches at last year’s Area tournament and will look to punch their ticket this year. Keep an eye on a pair of sophomores in Alyssa Lee and Kimora Ferguson to make some noise this year. - SEWrestle
