Fleming Island downs Clay and Middleburg to punch their ticket

Fleming Island 50, Clay 18

Fleming and Clay traded the first few weights before the Golden Eagles middleweights took over with 6 consecutive wins. Laird Duhaylungsod, Matthew Kotler, and Christopher Chop each had falls, Kaden Schaefer added a 17-1 techincal fall, and Dylan Beck had a solid 7-0 decision over Landon Martin to put Fleming Island up big (35-6) with 5 matches remaining. Fleming forfeited at 190 and 215, but then won the last 3 matches to punch their ticket to another Elite 8.


First Round

Fleming Island 57, Middleburg 18

Fleming Island announced their presence with authority as they came out on fire against a good Middleburg squad. They had 7 falls in the first 10 matches and had 3 decision wins over solid competition. Jordan Mukaddam downed Grady Woodard 2-0 at 120, Joseph Forte beat Dylan Johns 10-4 at 132, and Dylan Beck down Daniel Raines 9-5 to give Fleming Island a 51-0 lead before forfeiting to Midleburg at 190 and 215. Fleming rolls into the 2nd Round.


Clay 44, Oakleaf 25

Solid battle between two outstanding programs. Oakleaf got out to a 9-0 lead, but Clay put up 29 points in 5 matches to take a commanding 29-9 lead to the halfway point of the dual. Wins by Ghais Cooper and Jerimiah Baker and a fall by Eric Brown had Oakleaf back in the match (29-21) with 4 matches remaining. But Kelly Williams and Aaron Stacey put that to rest with falls at 190 and 215 to push Clay into the 2nd round.
