Tennessee Girls

Will we get another Rossview vs. Clarksville finale or will Gibbs or Cleveland spoil the party?  Rossview and Clarksville have been at the top in Tennessee for years, but the field has made significant strides recently and don’t be surprised if Gibbs or Cleveland push them.  Rossview are the defending the champs and have had another stellar season this year.  The Hawks have hammers throughout their lineup, but their greatest strength is that they have few (if any) holes.  Analise Jetter, Alexis Mize, Alyssa Adamo, and Katelynn McMillan are all returning state placers, but the Hawks also return 5 state qualifiers from last year in Ava Teasley, Caitlyn Miller, Mahkenze Bonczek, Evelin Ochoa, and Kelsey Mize.  Rossview are the favorites simply based on their depth.

Gibbs return two placers (Haley Redmond and Trinity Lynn) as well as 2 state qualifiers (Bowman and Harr) and the strength of their lineup is through the middle from 126-138.  They have a tall task in front of them with Rossview and will need Redmond, Lynn, and company to lead the way.

The dual between Clarksville and Cleveland looks interesting … each has hammers where the other doesn’t ...  Clarksville with Ella-Lina Gonzalez (returning champ) at 120 and Lilli Cobb (returning placer) at 132.  Cleveland with returning State Champ Piper Fowler  who is at 165.  But we do have to potential hammer on hammer matchups with Kayla Powers vs. Kemoria Turner at 145 and then returning State Champ Sha’Niayha Wysinger vs. returning State Runner-up Diamond Young.  Those matches could be huge in determining which team advances.

  • Gibbs beats Bradley Central, 42-29

  • Cleveland downs Maryville, 55-9

  • Clarksville beats Riverdale, 39-28

  • Rossview hammers Rockvale, 69-0
