Tennessee D2 A-AA

Final 4

Overall

This is a 4-team bracket that is headlined by returning Champs Lakeway Christian. The Lions won it a year ago and even though they graduated some heavy hitters in Keyveon Roller, Brayden Ivy, and Colby Dalon they returned a solid lineup from top to bottom. Gumlick, Reep, Eversole, and Helton lead the way and it would be a surprise to see any of the other 3 knock them off. That doesn’t mean that the others won’t be in the hunt … it just means that (on paper at least) that they are the favorites.  The Lions have their hammers and then also have a solid group around them … not something that most smaller schools have.

Tyson Wolcott, Chase Eakes, and Devin Livery will lead the way for Friendship, but they will need some help if they are going to beat the Lions.  Boyd Buchanan has some hammers in their lineup with Conor Payne, Nolen Hardman, Carter Rowlett, and Austin Johnson, but if they really have 2 holes in their lineup (forfeits at 126 and 132) it will be hard to recover from losing 12 points.  Battle Ground Academy’s strength is up top with Jack Henneberry (182), David Demorest (195), and Jeremiah Rhames (220), but they will need the middle of the lineup to come through if they are going to make a run.  Each team has their strengths (and challenges) – whoever has the best matchups and can get bonus is likely to hoist the trophy.
