Georgia Super 32 EE Tourney - Results (152-285)
Compound welcomed wrestlers from all over the country, 16 different states were listed as registered (I’m certain there weren’t that many that actually wrestled), for the Super 32 Early Entry Tournament this past Saturday in McDonough, Georgia. As has been typical of this tournament in previous years, some weight classes were very deep with some nationally-ranked wrestlers.
If you are interested in pics of the tournament please visit the pics page on the website. There are over 2,000 uploaded to the smugmug account … please be mindful of the directions on the pics page. Note: Notable doesn’t mean an “upset” … it just represents a match of kids that have previously been on the state tournament podium. Brackets. Onto the results:
Boys
152 lbs.
Christian Moder (Naples Titans)
Will Miller (Warrior Wrestling Club)
Jacob Piccirilli (Level Up)
Chandler Amaker (Fort dorchester)
Seeds:
Jaden New (Ironclad)
Jakob Chisolm (Oxford)
Nathaniel Insko (Charlotte)
Will Miller (Wwc)
Manny Marrero (Bob Jones)
Chandler Amaker (Fort Dorchester)
What happened: Another weight class, another unseeded wrestler takes the top spot. It isn’t surprising to see Moder on top, but 152 seemed to have more depth than 138 or 145 … so his being unseeded might not be a surprise. Still Moder is a returning State Runner-up and he showed it on Saturday. He had outstanding wins over Will Hames of Social Circle 7-0, Jakob Chisolm 7-2, pinned Chandler Amaker after being behind and then beat Miller 6-3 in the finals. Level Up’s Jake Piccirilli wrestled superb - beating #3 seed Insko 6-5 before falling to Amaker in the quarters. Miller took the drivers seat on the top side with a nice wins over Joey Bertrand 6-2, a 16-4 major of fellow AL 7A foe Manny Marrero and a solid 5-1 decision over GA Runner-up Jeremy Paradice. Paradice took out top seed Jaden New 8-6 in the quarters.
Notable wins/losses in the consis (not mentioned above):
Jaden New pinned Nathaniel Insko
Will Hames pinned Manny Marrero
Jake Piccirilli dec. Jakob Chisolm, 3-2
Jake Piccirilli dec. Jeremy Paradice, 5-2
Chandler Amaker dec. Jaden New, 3-1

Matthew Singleton (Woodward Academy/Compound Wrestling)
Gunner Filipowicz (Level Up)
Kamdyn Munro (Rhhs)
Tre Morrisette (Kingsman wrestling)
Seeds:
Matthew Singleton (Woodward Academy/Compound Wrestling)
Kamdyn Munro (Rhhs)
Tre Morrisette (Kingsman wrestling)
AJ Dickerson (West Oak)
Aaron Sheffield (Complex)
Gunner Filipowicz (Level Up)
What happened: Easily the best weight class this weekend. Two nationally-ranked hammers, Singleton and Munro, headlined a weight class that featured State Champ after State Champ. But in the end - it was all Singleton and he wasn’t even close to being pushed. 16-0 tech fall, 16-1 tech fall, 15-0 tech fall over a good Carson Kim of Vicious, 15-0 over a very good AJ Dickerson of West Oak before dismantling Gunner Filipowicz 13-0 in the finals. Filipowicz had an outstanding weekend … beating Tre Morrisette 6-3 before taking out Munro 2-1. Anytime you have Munro wrestling Morrisette for 3rd (and it ended up being a medical forfeit) you have a stacked weight class.
Notable wins/losses in the consis (not mentioned above):
Ethan Rickert pinned Ethan Culbreth
Carson Kim dec. Aaron Sheffield, 4-3
Tre Morisette dec. AJ Dickerson, 14-6
Kamdyn Munro dec. Carson Kim , 10-3
170 lbs.
Clint Morrisette (Kingsman wrestling)
Raul Soto (Lake Gibson)
David Bertrand (Mount Pisgah)
Warren Hoyt (Alabama Takedown Academy)
Seeds:
Clint Morrisette (Kingsman wrestling)
Raul Soto (Lake Gibson)
David Bertrand (Mount Pisgah)
Zane Van Vleet (High Point)
Warren Hoyt (Alabama Takedown Academy)
Jack Brown (River Bluff)
What happened: Another deep and talented weight class … but this is one of the few weights that held the seeds. Morrisette downed Hoyt 3-2 in one semi and Soto downed Bertrand 1-0 in the other. Hoyt’s 11-0 win over Van Vleet in the quarters was impressive. Morrisette wrestled outstanding on the day and downed Soto 8-2 in the finals. Bertrand and Hoyt each won their bounce back matches in the consi semis before Bertrand took a medical forfeit to claim 3rd.
Notable wins/losses in the consis (not mentioned above):
David Rundell dec. Zane Van Vleet, 7-5
Noah Rupp dec. Jack Brown, 4-3
182 lbs.
Mason Blackwell (River Rats)
Tate Evans (Richmond Hill High School)
Will Parker (Compound)
Nolan Pozzobon (Level Up)
Seeds:
Mason Blackwell (River Rats)
Nolan Pozzobon (Level Up)
Tate Evans (Richmond Hill High School)
Will Parker (Compound)
Gervacio Gonzalez (CBHS)
Kage Williams (Robbinsville)
What happened: Everything went according to the seeds … Blackwell and Pozzobon made the semis with relative ease. Evans downed Williams 7-5 in a good match and Parker downed Gonzalez 3-0 to setup a semis featuring each of the top 4 seeds. Both semis were outstanding … Blackwell downed Parker 5-3 and Evans took out Pozzobon 4-2. Blackwell finished off the day with a superb 5-0 win over Tate Evans. Again the consis pretty much went according to the seeds as well … Pozzobon downed Gonzalez and Parker beat Williams in the consi semis and Parker pinned Pozzobon for 3rd.
195 lbs.
Jack Forbes (Et)
Levi Kluttz (Mt. Pleasant High School)
Kyle Fink (Peak Wrestling)
Cole Williams (Teknique)
Seeds:
Jack Forbes (Et)
Kyle Fink (Peak Wrestling)
Levi Kluttz (Mt. Pleasant High School)
What happened: Not surprising that as we get to the heavier weights the #’s and the depth isn’t what it is in the lower weights … that is just a fact of life in the fall with football in the Southeast. Still there were some good matches at 195. Top seed Forbes wasn’t really pushed at all … pinning Thomas Riley, earning a major over Levi Roe 13-4 before downing Levi Kluttz 14-5 in the finals. The bottom side featured a pair of really nice wins for Kluttz - 3-1 over Williams in the quarters and a fall over Fink (when leading 1-0 late in the match). Fink bounced back to pin Xander Wulff and then down Williams 5-2 to take 3rd.
220 lbs.
Carson Floyd (Combat Athletics)
Tristan Middlebrook (Lake Gibson Braves)
Sakarri Morrison (Combat Athletics)
Noah Todd (Wilson Central)
Seeds:
Sakarri Morrison (Combat Athletics)
Tristan Middlebrook (Lake Gibson Braves)
Chase Crayton (Mt Pleasant)
Carson Floyd (Combat Athletics)
What happened: Some good wrestling at 220 despite the small numbers … and Carson Floyd showed out. Floyd wrestled two outstanding matches - beating teammate Sakarri Morrison 4-3 before downing Middlebrook 7-5 in the finals. Wilson Central’s Noah Todd had a nice outing … beat #3 seed Chase Crayton before losing to Middlebrook 1-0 in the semis. In the consis Morrison downed Crayton 3-2 and Todd 4-3 to take 3rd.
285 lbs.
Robert Joseph (Woodward Academy)
Francisco Valle (Level Up Wrestling)
Collin Crosby (Storm)
Nicolas Jimenez (Riverside)
Seeds:
Francisco Valle (Level Up Wrestling)
Robert Joseph (Woodward Academy)
Brian Shaw (Union Grove)
Nicolas Jimenez (Riverside)
What happened: Just 5 wrestlers at the weight. Joseph beat Valle to claim the title, but I’m not sure what happened in the end. Thy were tied 2-2 and it looked like they were headed to overtime when the official awarded the win to Joseph. I didn’t get an explanation. Collin Crosby came back from a first round loss to win his next two matches to claim 3rd.
