AHP finished 9th in 1A Region 4 in 2021 … usually when a team moves up to a higher classification, as AHP does in 2021-2022, it means they take a slight step back. That shouldn’t be the case with the Patriots … here’s why: 1) 1A Region 4 is extremely difficult with the 4 of the top 6 teams in 1A coming from Region 4 and 2) AHP returns the core of their squad from a year ago. 2A Region 4 won’t be easy, but the Patriots look ready to make the jump.
The Patriots should be led by returning State Placer Jaedan Kinlock - who will look to push for the top spot on the podium in 2A in 2022. The Patriots also return Armando Wisdom, Alexander Wisdom, and Belizaire Bassette … each won multiple matches at the region tournament in 2021 and will look to punch their ticket to the state tournament in 2022. Isaac Jacobs and Chris Levine as well as Ernest Padron, Jr. are a few others that 2A Region 4 should keep an eye on.
