Riverdale needed both of those matches to keep it close and neither went their way … as a result Palmetto Ridge led 30-6 at the halfway point. With falls from Julius Avila, Kaden Darwin, and William McGowan … Palmetto Ridge advanced with relative ease.

Riverdale 38, Lakewood Ranch 37
The Takeaway: Solid dual that saw Riverdale jump out to an early lead, but falls from Andres Anastasi, Shane Maestre, and Trey Schwartz kept Lakewood Ranch within striking distance … 33-18 with 5 matches remaining. Will Moran jump started Lakewood Ranch’s run with a fall at 285 and then Aiden Sanders, Nick Chop, and Logan Borcsane all got wins (some bonus) to pull Lakewood Ranch into the lead 37-33 heading into the final match. Unfortunately for Lakewood Ranch it would be anticlimcatic because Riverdale had their ace on deck in Ayden Balma who would shut the door and push Riverdale into the 2nd round with a 15-0 technical fall.
